The initial problem for Matti Mikkola was that he had gigged with a small board and a selection of separate pedals, so the setup took time and effort. The amount of people on stage with Saimaa can vary from ten to hundred, so extra hassle has to be minimized. When Matti had decided that Tehosekoitin is going make a comeback in summer 2020, he wanted to upgrade his pedal collection to a compact unit needed in festival shows.

He wanted to add a wireless unit to the board for easier maneuvering on stage, as well as a new boost pedal. We tried a few, and finally settled into a Walrus Audio Emissary with its tasty, vintage-voiced midrange boost.

The build process of the board didn't offer much surprises. The wireless unit sounded and reacted wonderfully and Matti's collection of Mad Professor pedals didn't leave anything to hope for.

We switched a couple of knobs on pedals into bigger and taller ones as Matti wanted to use them with his feet, and every other adjustment was locked in place with our Pot Stopper kits. As many times before, Voodoo Lab Dingbat pedalboard/power supply-combo was used as a platform to build upon
